Why October 24, 2015?
When we first got engaged, we liked the date 5-10-15 but quickly realized that planning might require additional time. We had settled on 10-10-15 and were ready to book the reception venue, but a Viking Festival snatched our date first. We happily settled on the next open date hoping for nice, cool weather.
Why are you having your wedding at those locations?
Southside Baptist Church is very near and dear to our hearts, as this is the church we attend on a regular basis and is also the place Nate became saved. We would have it no other way to be married in this church and by our pastor, Kerry Nance. We loved the close proximity of the Tampa Garden Club to our church and the bright, open windows with a view of Hillsborough Bay.
Is there a dress code?
The dress code is black tie optional. Simply, this means a tuxedo or suit for men and formal knee-length cocktail dresses for women.
Per the bride and groom's request along with the requirements of the church, we do ask that you please adhere to a modest dress to show respect for the Lord's house. Ladies, please keep your dresses knee-length or longer and refrain from wearing strapless or spaghetti-strap dresses. We truly do appreciate your compliance.
WHERE SHOULD WE PARK?
Parking is abundant and free at both the ceremony site and the reception venue. Please park in the respective parking lots.
What kind of food will be served?
We will be having a brunch reception featuring many breakfast favorites along with some heartier lunch items.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please contact the bride or groom as soon as possible so we can try to accommodate for any dietary restrictions.
Is there an open bar?
No alcohol will be served at our wedding. We do not feel that alcohol is necessary to have fun, and we hope our guests will have a marvelous time without it as well.
Can I take pictures?
We do ask our guests to unplug and enjoy the sweet moments of our ceremony, as we have hired a professional photographer who will be handling our photos. However, please feel free to take as many photos as you like at our reception. You can even use our wedding hashtag #njjhwedding.
